MIKU 16th virtual exhibition 2023.8.01-9.24 by ANIQUE

there’s this pretty neat online exhibit, which I could not imagine existing in a browser 16 years ago without flash, but did you know kadokawa also has their own cultural museum in tokorozawa? the exterior looks like something frank gehry would have designed if he had never figured out how to bend steel and glass. kengo kuma apparently considers himself something of a “post-industrial” architect that explores alternatives to those materials, so it’s actually mostly granite panels, and it also looks tremendously twisted from every angle because it was imagined as the tectonic collision of high and low culture. seriously though, those infinity panels hanging in the library make it look like a classy manga cafe that I’d have to schedule access to instead of showing up to drunk at 3 AM.

the actual miku exhibit also has scrolling danmaku being projected, which is probably still as cool as it was when nicofarre still existed. maybe we can get her back in roppongi for another AR live?
